Let's be honest, there is a world of difference between the teaser and the actual game. The gameplay is way too slow, it just makes the match incredibly boring. The player's speed made me feel very impatient. I don't know how a game released in 2018 can be like that. If the bugs and the morbid slowness were to be fixed, it would be way more enjoyable. Right now, the game is barely playable and isn't worth its price.. really bad experience overall. Gameplay is cranky, players make impossible moves at times, net play is unrealistic and the opponent after a point stops moving (after 3-4 net shots) which makes it incedibly easy to get points if you get to the net. Very very poor game. The graphics are not the best and they should be better for a 2018 game, but the main problem is gameplay. If it can be fixed then the game will be fine.Also...what's with the commentary on the game. I do a double fault and it's announced like 2 points later, every single comment is many seconds late and at that point you're at a different point.Much much improvement is needed, for now it's a negative review and i wouldn't reccomend this to anyone. Fix your game please. 40 euros for this? You can't be serious.. 7.5/10 (v. 1.14)"Game set & almost match."F*ck me, the devs "fixed" the game!?! I could understand the pain behind the unfullfilled expectations a lot of us had in this game. Nevertheless it definitely isn't as catastrophic as stated in lots of reviews. The devs actually fixed a lot of stuff in the last 6 months; like the gameplay, the animations, the ai and the commentary! Regarding the comparison with TopSpin 4 (X360;2011), TWT is still not better. And also the direct ball feedback and the large amount of features are definitely not as good as in Full Ace. But TWT doesn't feel as arcade-ish as VirtuaTennis 4 and is now definitely worth to learn & play - if you enjoy (arcade) tennis games! Plus its visuals in 4K are the "best" compared to the rest of its competitors on the PC! And maybe the devs will improve the game furthermore. :) PS: I haven't tested AO International Tennis yet. Pros:+ great that the devs fix(ed) the game+ good gameplay+ good controls+ good animations+ good ball physics+ good complexity & learning curve+ good sound & commentary+ good career mode+ good ai+ okay graphics @2K/4K (Screens: 1, 2, 3)+ okay skill point system (Screens: 1, 2)+ okay character creator (Screens: 1, 2)+ solid amount of features+ 18 tennis courtsCons:- fatal release- no doubles, yet- graphics look old- no steam workshop- no footprints on clay court- high price tag (game & dlc)- only two player local multiplayer- missing online couch-coop in double- small player roster (25male, 5 female)- cannot change controller button bindingsVerdict:Get TWT on sale and give it a chance!See comments for other tennis game reviews.. Oh dear, where to start?Ocassionally I like to completely ignore all the reviews and try out a game because I like the concept. Sometimes I strike it lucky - this is not one of those times. The game is incredibly clunky from the outset. The controls are poor - do not even attempt to play using a keyboard! Even after switching to my steam controller it is a pretty poor show. Once you get past the controls I'm afraid the gameplay become pretty repetative pretty damn quickly - like a few matches in. The tactics really just involve deciding what your player is going to do each month and that is simply a case of deciding to play a match, do some training which gives you a boost for a few months or to rest up. The game lacks any form of depth and pretty much feels like it's soul purpose is to cash in on Wimbledon fever - I'm all for developers making money - after all crave the worlds they create - but this is a poor attempt to deliver a concept. Add to this the AAA price tag and I'm left wondering how little shame the developers truly have. Double fault: Game, Set and Why the hell did we even bother? Online Stability Patch: Patch Highlights.
